Hi Ross, Vcpkg is a package manager from Microsoft (see https://vcpkg.io/en/index.html).
vcpkg basically downloads the source from the mentioned website and build it automatically for you. Live555 is available as a package. The download link configured in the Live555 vcpkg package was however referencing the previous version (http://www.live555.com/liveMedia/public/live.2021.12.18.tar.gz), which is not available anymore as download, so building through vcpkg failed (as it couldn't download the source). I've reported that link error to MS, they fixed it. However, once they switched to the latest release (http://www.live555.com/liveMedia/public/live.2022.01.21.tar.gz), they got some build errors, which I sent in my original message. So, I'm of course referring to the official version of Live555 source code ;) -----Original Message----- From: live-devel <live-devel-boun...@us.live555.com> On Behalf Of Ross Finlayson Sent: Friday, February 4, 2022 11:09 AM To: LIVE555 Streaming Media - development & use <live-de...@us.live555.com> Subject: Re: [Live-devel] compilation issue / vcpkg / windows > On Feb 4, 2022, at 10:58 PM, g.jaegy <g.ja...@imagine3d.fr> wrote: > > While trying to build live555 through vcpkg (VS packet mananager), I get an > error as the initial source tar.gz file had changed. I don’t understand. Where did you get your copy of the LIVE555 code? The only version of the code that we support is the version that comes directly from our web site; see http://live555.com/liveMedia/faq.html#latest-version If you get code that calls itself “LIVE555” from any other source, then we cannot support it.
