At the moment I am planning on 500GB (perpahs even 1TB). There won't
be a lot of traffic over it. If I could build something small and
energy efficient I would run a torrent client on it as well.

I had a look at the nettop line fo computers, and I think that they
would be perfect for my use. The only question for me is one of cost -
I don't want to spend too much (a few hundred max). Can you recommend
anything in the way of parts etc?
