Hi all,
there have been various attempts to integrate Nashville Number System
support into Lilypond (see the "Nashville notation as chord symbols"
thread of June 2015 and "Nashville Number System, again" of June 2021).
Some progress was made then, but it's never been carried through to full
support. The difficult part proved to be the Nashville-unique rhythmic
markings.
I'm in a job situation now where I need Nashville on a daily basis (I'm
an organist at a church in the African-American tradition. This involves
being able to spontaneously transpose a song to each and every key, and
the musical material is also very rhythmic).
I'd be more than happy to have Lilypond prepare my Nashville sheets so I
could do away with my hundreds of handwritten Nashville charts. Can you
maybe help me?
