By Exeter Museum do you mean Rougemont House?

I thought Rougemont was an extension of the V&A, and so they had some
costume (not a lot I recall), which would be why I went. There was some
lace (I think). It's been 25+ years since I visited Rougemont House, but
they did have a nice collection. At the time, they had a display of gloves -
1 was a pair of gloves owned by Queen Elizabeth I, and I think they (or
another pair on display) had gold lace on them.

I digress....

I do recall some lace at Allhallows Museum in Honiton. Pat Perryman was
demonstrating there, the day I visited (25+ years ago :-) ), so that was
interesting to meet her.

Used to have family in Devon, so I did the Exeter and Honiton town visits
:-)

If you can extend down into Cornwall for a day, Tintagell Castle is worth a
visit - no lace, but King Arthur is reputedly a former inhabitant. Lovely
part of the coast.

Cheers,
Helen, Duvall, WA.
