My apologies all around. Too many Yallops and Alans. :-) Yes, Alan Cole is the person I was thinking of who wrote the extensive reports in the 1800's.
Also, my apologies Jeri. Unfortunately, a quirk of technology. I thought (incorrectly, obviously) that I was replying directly to Brian, and not via the list. When the emails come in from a person, in response to a thread (I get the digest form), in the past, a reply has been sent directly to the person, not the list. Obviously something somewhere has changed, as I have noticed that my replies that would've been direct to a person in the past, now show up in posts. I try to be cognizant of replying to the list when appropriate. Sometimes I will send a private reply to someone, if I'm coming to something late. I have duly noted, and inwardly marked, so that I hope I don't get caught in that again. Cheers, Helen in Duvall, WA, where the air this morning was fragrant with the heavy scent of the blossom trees around. - To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [email protected].
