Please see https://forestfield.org/paste-into-directory-panel-bug.webm for a
video demonstrating the bug. I would have attached this video to the bug but
the video is slightly larger than the maximum attachment size for bugs.kde.org.

In this movie I used Dolphin version 20.04.3 and I enabled the "'Copy To' and
'Move To' commands" service. I knew this service would bring up the directory
selector panel I referred to, but no data is moved and this bug has nothing to
do with moving/copying data.

"foo" is in the clipboard. You can see that I'm in the process of using Dolphin
to move foo.txt into one of the foo folders (foo1 through foo4).

When I typed the forward slash, the directory panel helped me by filling in
auto-complete candidates. This is the bug: When I pasted "foo" from the
clipboard, the completion candidate list did not update to show me only the 4
foo directories (the only relevant directories matching what's in the text).
When I pressed backspace to remove the trailing "o" in "foo", the candidate
list was updated.

Therefore I concluded that pasted-in text was not treated like typed-in text.
Typed-in text appeared to be handled properly but pasted-in text was ignored.

What should have happened? When I pasted in "foo" the candidate list should
have updated to show the foo directories. I deleted the trailing "o" as a
workaround for this bug, knowing that the keystroke will cause the
auto-completion to go into action and update the completion candidate list.
