Bug ID: 504060 Summary: Add export option to limit thumbnail.png size in .ora files Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.2.9 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: File formats Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: thomas.berger....@freenet.de Target Milestone: --- Currently, Krita saves a full-size thumbnail.png inside the /Thumbnails/ folder of every .ora file. In many cases, this thumbnail is as large as the canvas itself (e.g. 2204×1240), which unnecessarily increases the file size—sometimes by several megabytes. This is problematic when managing large numbers of .ora files, sharing them online, or working with limited storage. A smaller thumbnail would still provide a good file preview in operating systems like Windows or KDE without bloating the file. Feature request: - Add an option to limit the resolution (width/height) of thumbnail.png when exporting .ora files - For example: max width 256px (automatically scaled down from canvas) - Optional: allow setting this limit in the export dialog or application settings This would help keep .ora files compact and improve usability for artists and developers alike.
