This happens with version 2.1 of the release plugin. Version 2.0-beta-9 of the
release plugin w/ all other things (jdk/mvn/OS) equal works fine.
The attached release.prepare.out is the stdout/err when running with -X.
I also tried maven 2.0.11 and 3.0.2 w/ java5 but got the same result.
