In archetype-common, the plexus-utils `StringUtils` calls whose commons-lang3 or JDK counterparts behave the same move to those (`replace`, `isEmpty`, `isNotEmpty`, single-character `split`, and `String.join`); commons-lang3, so far only transitive, is declared directly at the version the root POM already manages. Files that also use `unifyLineSeparators` or `replaceOnce`, which commons-lang3 lacks, keep plexus-utils, as do the `FileUtils` and `IOUtil` calls. 29 unit tests and 33 ITs pass.
