Actually, this nice `dev-tools/scripts/addBackcompatIndices.py` is exactly the automation I was thinking of! It just gets tricky in the "who tests the tester" scenario ... when we fix a bug in the bwc index generation and then need to regen from tip of a git branch and not the actual release bits, I guess. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
