@jpountz my concern is backporting. Wouldn't this break backwards
compatibility? LeafReader && KnnVectorsReader are both exposed in the module
definition and thus can be used by consumers via sub-classes.
Or is backwards compatibility only a big concern on "normal" usage (e.g. not
sub-classing)?
