Dawid Weiss commented on LUCENE-9670:
-------------------------------------

Hi Mike. See - this is the reason I wouldn't want people to override gradle
globals... it makes for confusing results. Your global declaration has this:
{code}
org.gradle.jvmargs=-Xms1g -Xmx1g -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch
-XX:+UseTransparentHugePages -XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:TieredStopAtLevel=1
-XX:ActiveProcessorCount=1
{code}
Note the {{-XX:ActiveProcessorCount=1}} bit - this makes the JVM return 1 from
availableProcessors.

Please wipe any global settings, then run gradlew help and see if the defaults
are set properly. This (project-local) file is just a suggestion - you *could*
adjust them in that file (bump the number of workers, jvm threads) but don't
make it global.

> I recently added tracking how long {{gradle precommit}} takes each night so
> we can track slowdowns over time.
> But it sometimes fails with:
> {noformat}
> > Task :lucene:join:renderJavadoc FAILED
> Could not read standard output of command '/opt/jdk-15.0.1/bin/javadoc'.

> The nightly tool is quite simple – it just launches a sub-process using
