Absolutely! I don't see the existence of the reference branch as a reason for
discontinuing the good work here towards a feature that Solr needs. We can have
further discussions on how to take the reference impl forward at a later point
when it is more stable.
Having said that, it might be worth looking into what approach has been taken
there for the QOS filter and see if there's something we can do here on the
same/similar lines.
