Can you raise a separate JIRA? When you do it would help to give some idea of
what the benefit is. "Using the latest version" is an OK reason, but it would
also help if you mentioned any more serious reasons that 2.8.1 fixes.
And if you want to try your hand at a patch, all that really needs to be done
is change lucene/ivy-versions.properties and specify the current version, run
precommit and the test suite and submit a patch/pr.
