The more I understand about this the more it feels like we should avoid reading sizeInBytes at the point we do. Perhaps hold off looking at this until I've investigated how we might avoid this issue on the ES side. I think it's probably a good idea to protect against caching an invalid value on the lucene side, but the value returned is not reliable so we should be reading it when it is. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
