Review Comment:
Seems like validation for required deletes is currently is based on delete
paths and also without the logic to add to the paths set, cherry picking fails
for some reason that I'm still trying to figure out.
I'll take a look tomorrow to see how I can optimize this to avoid adding to
delete paths
