sometimes my cyrus shows the same behaviour. The reason is, that the lmtpd processes are gone. I do not know why. But i can reproduce the situation in starting the cyrus server and then killing the lmtpd processes manually.
Nice hint. I'll check wether it's the same with me.
As far as i have read on the list cyrus 2.2 should have imporvements in the master to deal with such situations. I have also heard that there should exist a patch for the 2.1. series, but unfortunately i couldn`t find it. So i will upgrade to 2.2 when the stable release comes out.
That would be marvellous. When should it be released ?
I always use LMTP over a unix socket. Do you know how to use it as a standalone server ?
