Well, restoring from backup is incredibly slow. I'd love to get suggestions from any computer systems gurus out there.
Basically, this is harddisk to harddisk copy, and each disk benchmarks with hdparm -tT at 50MB/s or higher. Using "cp -prdf" of the files (zillions of small HTML files) I am seeing a throughput of about 0.5 MB/s.
