Hey folks, I'm active in iceberg-rust but not so much with DataFusion. I'm also inclined to go with option 1. Regarding naming: true it is odd that the name is reversed, but ultimately there's not much we can do. The `datafusion_iceberg` crate already does not match convention (although I know `datafusion-iceberg` is resolvable), and I share Kevin's concern on non-ASF releases being alongside ASF releases. I also think that it reduces churn for consumers of both the ASF crate and Jan's crate - users just continue to depend on the same crates, and governance of `iceberg-datafusion` moved to Apache DataFusion. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
