Hello gentoo-user,

At last I'm actually using the ATI drivers, they're in, they work and I can
now use TVTime and Xawtv as well as kdetv.

TV applications are still jumpy at full screen and glxgears still takes a
dive at full screen so 3d isn't working yet. Compared to what I've just
been I think getting that to work will be a doddle... With the help of you
kind lot that is :)

I've been back through every post and redone everything suggested so far
but I must be missing something. Here is the output I get from those
suggestions so far along my current xorg.conf.

I've put xorg.conf back into /etc/X11 where it belongs.

My utmost apologies to those that are getting bored with me but I can just
feel the end is nigh... Hopefully!

Once again, apologies to all for having to download all this lot again. And
many, many thanks to all those who helped.
