Hi, > How come the proposed PMC includes someone that is not part of the > project?
If you are referring to Andrew, he has recently contributed to the project and expressed interest in joining the PMC. Other projects have done this in the past, and I can find examples. Apache Reef comes to mind, but I’d need to double-check. If you prefer, we can instead vote to add him to the PPMC before graduation. > In terms of community, the project has shrunk in 6 years - not grown - > it started with 13 PPMC members and now its down to 5 proposed PMC > members. While the community is small, it continues to provide a useful service, and remaining in the Incubator offers no additional benefit at this point. > I think there should be real concern about the > sustainability of Apache Training because to me it has the profile > (community wise) of a project on a trajectory towards the Attic rather > than one that is vibrant and growing. Recent activity includes the development of a badging system, the creation of a new Community over Code slide template, and new training slide decks. We’ve also had interest from potential new contributors. Given this, I don’t see the project heading to the Attic in the near future. > This makes it even stranger that someone is just put on the proposed > graduation resolution without them being added to the PPMC through the > normal process. As I mentioned earlier, there is precedent for including someone directly in the proposed PMC at graduation.
