No one knows as well as I do just how much you have already contributed to this project by ensuring BEA understood the interests and concerns of the Apache community before we proposed. Without your help this would have probably been harder for everyone involved. In fact, it's mainly your advice that inspired me to try to pass the help on to the next person by documenting as much as possible about the process. I realize you're pretty busy with Cocoon, but I'd feel quite lucky to have you as involved as possible. However, if the consensus is that committership should be preceded by involvement with the code or docs, then I will respect that (as you apparently have).
