Folks - particularly swig bindings maintainers, I have regenerated the swig bindings for python with swig 1.3.39 on www.gdal.org and committed them. I used that version to be compatible with what Even used last time. However, the scripts that building the perl and csharp bindings for the nightly snapshots are still using SWIG 1.3.36.
Before GDAL 1.7 release, I'd like us to settle on a preferred version of SWIG and I will update this to be the one used for the nightly snapshots and that we would use at other times for building source distributions. Is SWIG 1.3.39 acceptable for all bindings maintainers? PS. SWIG 1.3.39 is built and installed in ~warmerdam/gdal-swig on www.gdal.org (aka xblade14). SWIG 1.3.36 is in /usr/local/bin.
