212 --child_i;
213 _GLIBCXX_DEBUG_ASSERT(child_i > 1);
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
When I used -D_GLIBCXX_DEBUG, I got abort for child_i == 1 after
my patch is applied.
