------- Comment #2 from skunk at iskunk dot org 2006-07-26 18:36 ------- I was under the impression that the bootstrapping process would first build an intermediate compiler, itself written in a "safe" subset of C, that would then build the full GCC, which could use modern features as needed. Was it decided to no longer support bootstrapping on systems with "dumb" C compilers?
