Well feature-wise, Rufus is reusing ms-sys [1] internally, which was
modified to work on Windows, so as far as the DOS bootable part is
concerned, there's nothing Linux users shouldn't already have.

With regards to FreeDOS, it looks to me like UNetbootin [2] already
supports GUI creation of FreeDOS bootable USB drives (and I think it
will even automatically download the FreeDOS image), so the only new
feature that Rufus might bring to the table, compared to similar apps,
would be locale detection. Thus, if the interest for Rufus on Linux in
terms of features is with the locale setup (and potentially the UI),
there doesn't seem to be a good incentive for a Linux port.

Rufus is also heavily relying on Windows specific features and APIs that
aren't be available on Linux, so porting Rufus there would be closer to
creating a brand new application => time consumming. As such, as far as
I'm concerned, I don't have any plans for a Linux or OS X port at the
moment. But thanks for the interest!

Regards,

/Pete
