John Woodman's landscape films on super 8 use long shots, well 3'20'' at 18 fps. https://lux.org.uk/writing/new-dvd-landscape-films-1977-1982-john-woodman
What about *I Do Not Know What It Is I Am Like* and *Hatsu-Yume* by Bill Viola? Béla Tarr usually filmed long takes for works like *Sátántangó*, for example. Andy Warhol is the first artist that comes to mind concerning long takes, though. Concerning still images there are several filmmakers in Japan around the late seventies and eighties that could be useful: *Spacey* by Takashi Ito, *Engram* by Matsumoto Toshio.
