the etree db is simply a tool to keep track of what a user has. that and
that alone.
there is no law against having an illegal recording, IT IS illegal to sell,
trade, or give away an illegal recording. that is why you can find such
bands/people as the beatles, frank zappa, pink floyd, and even prince listed
on the db, altho they are all groups/people who don't/didn't allow
recording.
that is also why the "add new show" function on the db has a "tradable" or
"non-tradable" field when filling in the info for a new show that you are
adding shows to your list.
you can do whatever you want to do with the shows you have (i.e. trade
whatever you want), but it is asked that for legality you not list
taper-unfriendly bands as tradable.
i am going to see about getting what once was the etree list of taper/trader
friendly bands updated (it has fallen by the way side). once this is done it
should go a long way to solving this problem.
