If you delete the  ...e_session-XXXXXX.snapshots.0 file, then things you
have 
told to restart at startup won't.  I have entries to start gkrellm,
xscreensaver, and a few other things here that I keep saved elsewhere so
I can paste them back if I feel the need to delete this file.

Take a look at the end of this file. If the last entry refers to a
pager, it is fine to delete. It is probably a default setup.
