Patch Set 5: We validate "userName", but that doesn't preclude matching it to different attributes of the directory entry, and that is exactly what we are currently doing. I assume that there was a reason to do it. As this has been working this way since 3.0 chances are that users are depending on it. We can't change the behaviour.
