I have sent a PR that introduces an optional Fragment-MTU TLV that may be sent by the peers to allow some level of negotiation to be able to lower the MTU below 1280. https://github.com/InkbridgeNetworks/teapv2/pull/1 My thinking here is that from an out-of-bound process (either administrative or via RADIUS Framed-MTU) the authentication server can send back a value for the peer to use. Also any intermediate hops between the authenticator and authentication server could lower for example the value of the Framed-MTU attribute for consideration by the authentication server.
