Fat Brain is another good choice. It was also pointed out that my link
is a bit old since it points to the 2nd edition and there is now a 3rd,
but since he is in Germany it doesn't help.

I'm not that big a fan of the blue book since it is just the same as the
man pages. I prefer to look them up on line.
