I took it upon myself and did some checking on the hotels, etc., in Laughlin.
We really do have to act fast guys!!
The concert is April 27 and 28, 2001 just to remind you all.
There are hotels that are already sold out for that weekend. There are some
that aren't though. The rooms are pricey. Anywhere from $125.00 - 300.00
per night.
Most of them require a 3 night minimum stay.
What we need to know is how many people are DEFINITELY going to go to
Laughlin. We need a pretty hard count on this so we can make arrangements on
the rooms.
If you guys can please email me off the list and let me know what your going
to do, if your thinking about going, definitely going etc. So we can get a
count.
I talked to people about block rooms and the easiest way to do it is for us
to reserve a block of rooms and anyone who is going should call up to reserve
your room in that block.
I certainly can't afford to put this on the credit card nor can anyone on
this list to reserve rooms. That's why we need to set up a block to where
everyone can call and get the room themselves on the block.
The venue at the Flamingo is outdoors and small. Someone told me that
tickets go on sale in 2 weeks. Who knows, it could be less than 2 weeks.
If anyone is planning on bringing a boat....good luck finding a place to
park. There will over 60,000 Harley's. They had 70,000 last year.
Laughlin does have a small airport so that might be your best bet. I have
not checked on prices yet for flights.
If you haven't been to Laughlin before, what it is, is there are a number of
hotels on the beautiful Colorado River. Lets say your staying at the
Riverside Resort which is the last hotel on the strip, and you have to get
over to the Flamingo which is down the street a ways, you can either walk it
OR take a river taxi. The taxi's are worth it and pretty cheap, I will check
on prices. I forget how much they are. It's all the same at all the hotels.
You can take the taxi from hotel to hotel to hotel if you want.
I'm still waiting for some people in Laughlin to call me back to stay tuned
and as soon as I find anything out I will post it to the list.
We also need to know if we really need a banquet room. They are pricey!
Maybe we can do a meet at the river or something, I don't know. Any thoughts?
The banquet rooms are anywhere from $200.00 to 500.00 for several hours.
