I hear a certain amount of bitterness through your remarks. Also, it's
quite interesting that none of the others here chime in with "that's
not so!" - silent consent?

Two points:
-if "protecting business models" was a priority I guess gnu/linux
shouldn't have been started
-shortsightedness: you can sell some people (who are very tolerable or
have to do it because they have been told so "from above") crappy
stuff OR you can make it a mass market (all benefit from that) and
cater/support the stupid who still don't get it - and I guess that
number is always larger (<bitter>and growing...</bitter>)

<ironic>I wonder how red hat makes money, they give away ALL their
software (the sources)</ironic>

That certain business types don't get it was to be expected - but I
would have thought (hoped) that the mozilla folks and their supporters
"got" it.

Oh well, that's live, hmm?
Thanks all

P.s.: have you seen that Microsoft released two packages of software
under the GPL within 3 days? Not so long ago the GPL was "the evil",
wasn't it? Times change...
