Maybd you can just restart X by pressing "CTRL + ALT + BACKSPACE". This is a hardkill of X. However, it must be activated in the windowmanager, as this combination is disabled by default. More important is, to find out, why the browsers let the windowmanager freeze. Hint: Starting the browser from console like konsole or xterm might give some clue. Best Hans
