In Germany we've got a big discussion about this money and the money from the church taxes, because a bishop used it for living in luxury. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz-Peter_Tebartz-van_Elst http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz-Peter_Tebartz-van_Elst Nearly no money from the church is used for social work, church kindergartens, church hospitals etc., they are payed by the normal taxes, even half of churches, the buildings, are payed by normal taxes. The church tax's and begging bowl's money is used to make he church richer and richer, so they can buy vine stock, make their banks richer etc.. And sure, for bishop's bathtubs that coasts 15.000 Euro. Nothing from this money is used for people who die of hunger. I'm a so called atheist, not even an agnostic, but even if I should believe in god, I wouldn't become member of a church. However, those people like Richard can't change this and it's good that they ask for donations and that they are helping the children. The work of those people has nothing to do with the criminal church mafia. > > > > children of a neighboring elementary school { in U.S. > > education-speak it is a "title 1 - severely underprivileged > > school"}.
