Well, installing the package initramfs-tools from Backports, there were no problems this time after the start of the operating system. Now that is progress! root@orion:~# aptitude -t wheezy-backports install linux-image-3.10-0.bpo.2-amd64 initramfs-tools But I still have problems with the timeout of beacons: Sep 24 19:27:22 orion kernel: [ 1045.457975] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:22 orion kernel: [ 1045.457980] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:22 orion kernel: [ 1045.457984] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:26 orion kernel: [ 1048.919496] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:26 orion kernel: [ 1048.923143] wlan0: send auth to 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1/3) Sep 24 19:27:26 orion kernel: [ 1048.925885] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 19:27:26 orion kernel: [ 1048.926035] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:26 orion kernel: [ 1048.926041] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:26 orion kernel: [ 1048.926044] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:29 orion kernel: [ 1052.377879] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:29 orion kernel: [ 1052.380232] wlan0: send auth to 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1/3) Sep 24 19:27:29 orion kernel: [ 1052.382382] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 19:27:29 orion kernel: [ 1052.382585] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:29 orion kernel: [ 1052.382593] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:29 orion kernel: [ 1052.382598] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:33 orion kernel: [ 1055.812346] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:33 orion kernel: [ 1055.814770] wlan0: send auth to 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1/3) Sep 24 19:27:33 orion kernel: [ 1055.817578] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 19:27:33 orion kernel: [ 1055.817760] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:33 orion kernel: [ 1055.817767] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:33 orion kernel: [ 1055.817771] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:36 orion kernel: [ 1059.273495] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:36 orion kernel: [ 1059.276012] wlan0: send auth to 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1/3) Sep 24 19:27:36 orion kernel: [ 1059.279005] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 19:27:36 orion kernel: [ 1059.279232] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:36 orion kernel: [ 1059.279242] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:36 orion kernel: [ 1059.279250] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:40 orion kernel: [ 1062.711768] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 19:27:40 orion kernel: [ 1062.714092] wlan0: send auth to 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1/3) Sep 24 19:27:40 orion kernel: [ 1062.716143] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 19:27:40 orion kernel: [ 1062.716332] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:40 orion kernel: [ 1062.716339] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Sep 24 19:27:40 orion kernel: [ 1062.716343] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b After installing the kernel, I installed the suggested firmware: firmware-iwlwifi_0.40_all.deb. It would be a problem with the configuration of the AP? I see with "iwlist wlan0 scan" my wireless network.
