I do not think it's a problem with the keyboard, because it responds. In fact, I can enter the passphrase, but after that, I have no confirmation that it has been accepted or rejected. If I then keep pressing the keyboard, it responds, but the operating system never initiates the bootstrapping. Could you start an encrypted Debian with Linux 3.10 from Backports? Try testing in a virtual machine and if I fix it I'll use the same process on the notebook. This is what I get when trying to connect to AP with wap_supplicant: root@orion:~# wpa_supplicant -B -Dnl80211 -iwlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf /var/log/syslog: Sep 24 17:37:02 orion kernel: [ 179.166858] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: L1 Enabled; Disabling L0S Sep 24 17:37:02 orion kernel: [ 179.173490] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: Radio type=0x1-0x2-0x0 Sep 24 17:37:02 orion kernel: [ 179.467434] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: L1 Enabled; Disabling L0S Sep 24 17:37:02 orion kernel: [ 179.474099] iwlwifi 0000:03:00.0: Radio type=0x1-0x2-0x0 Sep 24 17:37:03 orion kernel: [ 179.594473] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready Sep 24 17:37:06 orion kernel: [ 182.925540] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:06 orion kernel: [ 182.928143] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 17:37:06 orion kernel: [ 182.965212] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 17:37:09 orion kernel: [ 186.426076] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:09 orion kernel: [ 186.428594] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 17:37:09 orion kernel: [ 186.465697] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 17:37:13 orion kernel: [ 189.904542] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:13 orion kernel: [ 189.907083] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 17:37:13 orion kernel: [ 189.944211] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 17:37:16 orion kernel: [ 193.356186] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:16 orion kernel: [ 193.358662] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 17:37:16 orion kernel: [ 193.395831] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 17:37:20 orion kernel: [ 196.839669] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:20 orion kernel: [ 196.842153] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 17:37:20 orion kernel: [ 196.880259] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 17:37:23 orion kernel: [ 200.317047] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:23 orion kernel: [ 200.319603] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 17:37:23 orion kernel: [ 200.356468] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 17:37:27 orion kernel: [ 203.791376] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:27 orion kernel: [ 203.794133] wlan0: authenticated Sep 24 17:37:27 orion kernel: [ 203.831467] wlan0: waiting for beacon from 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b Sep 24 17:37:30 orion kernel: [ 207.267515] wlan0: authenticate with 00:15:af:0b:c2:1b (try 1) Sep 24 17:37:30 orion kernel: [ 207.269713] wlan0: authenticated (...)
