I've only just skimmed the XOSL docs, but it looks like it's a lot more
complicated than you really need.  The installation process, in particular,
may be a tad intimidating to someone who's just coming off a Windows
background.

LILO, the traditional Linux bootloader, can handle booting DOS and Windows*
partitions quite nicely; I've been dual-booting for, oh, about 5 years now.
As far as I can tell, the only XOSL feature that LILO doesn't support is
the ability to hide windows partitions and thus allow multiple installs of
Windows on the same machine.

In short: looks cool, but probably not worth the hassle IMO.
