I agree on Karasten's analysys but I would do slightly different. I usually install gpm daemon too (Typical default potato install). Then using repeater device as imput to X may be better, IMO. If mouse hanges for any reason, you can restart gpm to reinitialize it. Try it by unplugging it, if you dare. ------- # cd /dev; ln -s gpmdata mouse
