If someone comes along and says that you can run a winmodem under wine it will hurt. I was planning on looking into that sometime.
What I did was the Win/Dos install as laid out on the website under installation and got the base system installed. Then I did the minimum package from the initial selection and downloaded at 14.4 althoguh the following would have worked. I chose my packages on the deselct and +'d them out just like I was going to download then just wrote them down (damn winprinter too). Then I went to the website and using Gozilla I downloaded about 35 -40 meg of additional files that I wanted under windows. The package search at the site does good at linking the depends. I put the files in a folder on the c: drive c:/debian/opts Then under the deselect method used the install from hard disk and called it /hda1 then when it asks what filesystem MSDOS then where are the .deb files would be /debian/opts/ the the package question is none. Then run dselect step 2) update and it should find the files and then you double check the selections in dselect and then run the 3) install.. Thats it..funny how almost simple it was. I do get a lot of errors that have to be hand debugged but very minor considering the possiblilites of not even being able to download. Robert
