I have, unsucessfully, for the past few weeks been trying to get sound working under X.
The trouble is this, I have initialized the sound drivers (sound, uart401, and sb), and can get sound to work from the console. However, whenever I use an X program (xanim, RealPlayer, x11amp, etc.), I cannot get the sound to work. If there is video, that works, but no sound. I have gone from hamm, to slink, to potato, and cannot get it to work period. Currently, this workstation has 2.2.5-ac1 and has a potato installed (current as of last night). When I do an strace against one of these programs, I see timeout or resource busy errors against socket 7 or 8. Has anyone seen this before? I am about at the end of my rope here.
