dpkg --compare-versions is happy and it looks sound indicating the
the real version, the -0+deb12u1 suffix to make sure any potential
uper suite packaging would not conflict.

I did not really went through the details of the packaging changes,
but we have no remaining worries of regressions?

If we are confident of the point release updates, having them exposed
early/enough time in advance of the point releases might be
beneficial. Emilio, with his other hat on from the release team might
have some valuable input for this kind of "transition".

Salvatore
