Andreas: The repo in salsa has unreleased commits, including a new
upstream release:

cmtk (3.4.0-1) UNRELEASED; urgency=medium

  * Team upload.
  * New upstream version
  * Standards-Version: 4.7.0 (routine-update)
  * Rely on pre-initialized dpkg-architecture variables.

Is there a reason why this was never released? (Some requirement that
was not met at the time?)

I am still willing to help, but I would need this to be clarified.

Sudip: At this point it would be better to delay or cancel the NMU
because it will create a mess in the git history.
