Even if we only conflict against packages (>= 3:20050427)?

Moreover if we find some way to break the packages from
http://debian-multimedia.org, marillat some other way to work around
that. I don't think we should engage into that game in the first place.

My idea was not supposed to break packages from Marillat at all. It was only supposed to break mixed environments in favour of the Debian packages.

The conflicts on the lib*cvs package was another game, because there we
don't conflict against our own packages. Eventually we will rename our
packages to 'libavcodec-stripped-51', which would reenable us do the
trick you propose here.

Although I don't like the idea to rename our packages because of breakage that's been introduced by packages from unofficial repositories, well, fine by me...
