I don't understand what you mean here. So far, whenever the original
file had explicit line breaks I also inserted them faithfully in the
translation as well.

Well, I thought this was a general description and everything was
in plural (grammar wise). I don't understand this as beeing for a
single package (or even only files in a package) at all. So I'd still
go for plural, especially since there are *lots* of package
descriptions in Debian alone.
