This is a problem for me, because I use emacs-snapshot from deb http://emacs.orebokech.com sid main deb-src http://emacs.orebokech.com sid main Though this repository is not official, I believe that it has a lot of users, therefore I ask you to allow emacs-snpshot as an alternative to emacs23. For now I had to hold gnus-bonus-el, my other option is to create a fake emacs23 with equivs, but neither of this is hassle-free.
