I am running snd-hda-itel on a tp t61p. What the hell is an ugly beep? For me
it is just a beep....

Well the beep can be controlled by the Beep mixer control.

What tells
# amixer | grep -A4 Beep

AFAIK the frequency of the beep doesn't vary.

There is a kernelmodul which can be enabled by commenting
blacklist snd-pcsp
to
# blacklist snd-pcsp
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base-blacklist.conf
Please don*t ask how this works ;-) AFAIK it uses the internal PC speaker.
