It's quite possible either way.

At any rate, I've just rechecked after installing
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad, and it seems that I can hear audio in
YouTube videos again!

There are still some issues with swfdec-mozilla, since sometimes the
image stays still, while the audio goes on, until something happens and
the image wakes up again, regaining synchronization with audio.
In other words, I sometimes fail to watch some visual segment of the
video, while I can hear the whole audio.
But I recall experiencing these issues with previous versions of
swfdec-mozilla, hence it's not a regression: I hope swfdec will be
enhanced soon...

If there are security issues with gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad you are
aware of, they should be reported to the BTS *as soon as possible*
(with a "security" tag), so that they will also appear on
http://security-tracker.debian.net/tracker/

If gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad includes codecs of such bad quality that
could break other software, I think a bug should be reported to the BTS
(possibly of "critical" severity), requesting that the offending codecs
be removed from the package or otherwise fixed.

If no issues like the above-described ones are actually present, I
think that libswfdec-0.8-0 should recommend gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad.
Please upload a new revision with such Recommend.

This would be suboptimal, IMO.
