Let me see how we can add this into the Maatkit distribution itself. Really I would like to see the following: init scripts for daemonizable tools; ability to make them log their stdout and stderr to a log file; and a configuration file, such as /etc/maatkit/maatkit.conf and /etc/maatkit/mk-slave-delay.conf. The latter two should work similarly to mysql's config files, although I am not sure I want to have [section] markers in files -- just keep each tool's config in a separate file.
What do you think about this? And if you agree, let's add bug reports to the project's upstream bug tracker: http://code.google.com/p/maatkit/issues/list On Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 1:01 PM, Bart Cortooms <b...@kumina.nl> wrote: > Package: maatkit > Version: 2442-1 > Severity: wishlist > Tags: patch > > Hi, > > The following patch for the Debian package of Maatkit adds an init script for > mk-slave-delay, which makes it easy to automatically start mk-slave-delay on > every boot.
